If there’s one thing that Stiles associates with Derek - other than the usual sort-of-sassy grumpiness - it’s the leather jacket and the Camaro. Maybe it’s because he’s secretly developed a thing for bad boy rebels and c’mon, what spells rebel more than a hot car and some leather? He’s also not-so-secretly developed a thing for the Camaro itself, and he would totally ask to get to drive it if he wasn’t so sure that the question would end painfully for him.

So, when he hears the roar of the engine, he doesn’t really pay much attention to the fact it sounds slightly different. Scott texted him before that they’d come pick him up, and that Derek is driving, so Stiles knows to expect them and the gloriousness of that heavenly piece of mechanical goodness called a car.

Some nights Kibum is silent. He sits at the foot of Minho’s bed, the large sweatshirt hanging off his shoulders as he curls in on himself. The tiredness feels like it’s seeping all the way into Minho’s bones as he finally drags himself up the stairs and to the front door. It’s way past midnight and he’s been up for over eighteen hours so he’s more than ready to drop, immediately as he gets the bed in sight. He barely manages to get the door open as he fumbles with his keys, leaning heavily against the doorframe to keep himself upright.

The windows are barred open as wide as they’ll go, but the pale moonlight doesn’t offer much help to work with. There’s an old oil lamp on the table, right on the edge and as far from the paints as possible, creating a fire hazard with the solvents slowly vaporizing in the summer heat. There are palettes thrown haphazardly on every flat surface available, some of them scraped free of paint, some covered in drying colours and some still in use.

If Kyuhyun is honest with himself, he knows he probably shouldn’t have tried to climb the almost vertical stone wall. A shortcut is always a shortcut but then again, maybe it would’ve been better to spend a little more time on the walk. He’s not going to be of much use to anyone if he bashes the back of his head in, he thinks within the split second as he falls, crashing hard against the rocks below.

“I didn’t think you’d show.” The low timbre of Minho’s voice is achingly familiar as he suddenly steps away from the shadows, into the light cast by one of the overhead lamps. He’s grinning, in that typical way that makes only one side of his mouth quirk up cockily. It instantly sends a sharp jolt of anger through Kibum, mixed with a myriad of feelings he determinedly extinguishes the second they appear.
